Reviewing & Moderating
As submissions come in, you decide which ones become nominees on your ballot. All review happens on the Nominations tab of your vote page.
The submissions list
Open your vote page and go to Nominations → Nominations. Every submission is a row showing the nominee’s photo, name, category, and its current status. New submissions start as Pending, and the list shows pending ones by default.
Every submission is kept as a record. Approving or declining marks it, it is never deleted, so you always have a full history of what came in and what you decided.
Use the filter row above the list to narrow things down:
- Status - the dropdown lets you tick any combination of Pending, Approved, and Declined (or All statuses). Each option shows a count so you can see how many are in each state.
- Search by name - type a name to find a submission.
- Category - show a single category or All categories.
- Click Apply to run the name and category search.
Submissions are paginated, so page through if you have many.
Reviewing a submission
Click any row to expand it inline, without leaving the page. The expanded panel shows everything the nominator sent:
- The image (click it to view the full-size photo).
- The name and category.
- Any extra fields the nominator filled in, laid out so long answers are easy to read.
For a pending submission you can fix small things before approving. The name and category are editable; the image and the other submitted answers are read-only.
The pending panel has three actions (the check and cross also appear on the row itself for quick decisions):
- Approve - adds the nominee to your ballot straight away. If voting is open, it becomes votable immediately. The submission stays in your list, now marked Approved.
- Save changes - keeps the submission pending but saves your edits to the name or category.
- Decline - rejects the submission. It moves to the Declined list, where you can still find it. You will be asked to confirm.
Approve and decline are final. Once a submission is approved or declined it becomes read-only, so review before you decide.
Deleting permanently
Any submission (whatever its status) has a Delete permanently action in its expanded panel. Use it to clear out spam or test entries. This removes the record for good and cannot be undone. Deleting an approved submission does not remove the nominee it created, or the nominee’s photo.
Exporting
The download button on the filter row exports every nomination (all statuses) to a CSV file, including the extra fields nominators filled in. Handy for record-keeping or reviewing entries in a spreadsheet.
Tips for clean nominations
Review nominations before you open voting. The usual flow is: open nominations, approve the good ones, close nominations, then open voting. Opening voting turns nominations off automatically.
Approved nominees are ordinary nominees from then on. You can rename them, add details or a better photo, reorder them, or remove them on the Manage tab. See Adding Categories & Nominees.
