Managing & Settings

Everything about running an existing vote page lives under its Settings tab and the Vote Pages list. This page covers the general settings, the public link, and the destructive actions (which all require your password).

Your vote pages list

Click Vote Pages in the sidebar to see every page you have created, newest first. Each row shows the page’s name and thumbnail plus badges for its voting type, Open/Closed status, and Published/Draft status. Per row you can:

View live page (only when published)
Settings (pen icon)
Delete (trash icon)
Manage (opens the ballot)

Settings → General

Open a page and go to Settings → General:

Image - upload or change the page image.
Link - your public URL (see below).
Name - rename the page.
Voting Open - the same on/off toggle as the header. When on, you can also enable Auto Close Voting with a date and time.
Show Votes - who sees the standings, and when (see below).
Private - hide the page from public listings and featured voting. A page that is not private appears on Discover once 10 people have voted, and stays there for a day after voting closes; while it takes nominations it appears straight away.
Description - a short description shown to voters on the page.

Click Save to apply.

Show Votes

Three choices for who sees a category’s standings:

No - votes stay private, even after voting closes.
Yes, once a voter votes - a voter sees a category’s standings once they have voted in that category, and everyone sees them once voting closes. The safest way to share results.
Always, even before voting - everyone sees the standings from the start, whether they have voted or not. Not recommended: showing results upfront can bias how people vote.

With either of the last two, voters can also see how many votes a category has taken in total from the start. The choice controls the per-nominee standings.

Changing the public link (slug)

Under Link you can customize your page URL. Every page has its own link on every plan, and changing it is a paid-plan feature.

On the Free plan your page keeps the link it was given, with a prompt to upgrade to customize it.
On a paid plan, click Edit, change the slug, and Save.

Changing the link means the old link stops working and there is no redirect. Anyone with the old link will not reach your page. Only change it before sharing widely. Embedded widgets keep working because they use your page’s permanent id, not its link.

Settings → Advanced

The Danger zone on the Advanced tab of Settings holds the actions that permanently delete things. Each one asks for your account password first:

Delete all votes - clears every vote and resets the counts to zero. Categories and nominees stay.
Delete all nominees - removes every nominee, with their votes and images. Categories stay.
Delete all categories - removes every category, with its nominees, votes, comments and nominations.
Delete this vote page - removes the page and its link, with everything in it. On a paid page, payment records are kept.

The first three only work while voting is closed, so close voting before using them.

Deleting a whole vote page

Delete a page from Settings → Advanced, or with the trash icon on the Vote Pages list. Either way you confirm with your password, since all categories, nominees, votes and nominations are permanently deleted.

Deleting a vote page cannot be undone.

Changing critical things after voting has started (for example deleting categories or nominees) affects existing results. Where a change could be unfair, Izivote blocks it, for example you cannot move a nominee that already has votes to a different category.
