How to Vote

This guide is for anyone who has been sent a vote page link and wants to cast a vote.

Open the page

Click the link the organizer shared (it looks like izivote.com/v/...) or use the vote embedded on their website. You will see the vote’s title and its categories, each with a list of nominees to choose from.

If the page is still being set up you may see a Coming Soon message, check back later. If voting has ended you will see that voting is closed.

Cast your vote

1. Browse the categories. In each category, review the nominees. On many pages you can click a nominee’s photo to see more details about them.
2. Pick your choice. Select the nominee you want. Depending on the page’s design, you either click the nominee’s card or a radio button next to their name.
3. Vote. Click the Vote button. You vote once per category, so you can make a choice in each category on the page.

Use the search box (Find a nominee) and the Categories filter at the top of the page to jump around if there are many options.

Signing in to vote

Some pages ask you to verify who you are so everyone gets a fair single vote. What you see depends on how the organizer set up the page:

Every vote button says the same word, Vote, whatever the page asks of you. The icon on it shows how your vote is counted, and what happens after you click depends on the page:

• Open pages - no sign-in, just vote.
• Paid pages - the button carries a card. A payment window opens where you enter your email, pick one of the organizer’s prices (a single vote, or a bundle of several at a lower rate) and how many of it you want, review the total, and pay securely by card. If the total is too small for a card payment, the window says how many to select. Please keep the vote page open while you pay.
• Paid pages with a free vote - a separate Vote free button sits beside the paid one. The free vote needs a free Izivote account, which takes a few seconds to create with your email address or a Google account. Paying for votes never needs an account.
• Login pages - the button carries the mark of the sign-in the organizer chose, your own email address or Google. Sign in and your choice is submitted automatically.
• Identity pages - the button carries an ID card. Enter the identity the organizer gave you (contact them if you are not sure what to use). Some organizations use single sign-on instead, in which case the button opens their sign-in page.

Your free vote on a paid page

Some organizers give everyone one free vote per category and let you pay for more on top.

• Signing in creates a free Izivote account if you do not already have one. That is how we keep the free votes to one per person, and you can use the same account on any other campaign.
• The organizer chooses how often the free vote comes round: once only, or once an hour, day or week. When yours is used, the page tells you and still lets you pay for more votes.
• Your free vote counts once per mailbox, so signing up with a variation of your address (extra dots, or a +tag) will not give you a second one. Temporary and forwarding addresses are not accepted.
• Your votes are tied to the email address you used, free and paid alike. Sign in with that address to see them again, here or on another device. Votes you cast with a different address stay with it.
• A code we email you signs you in to vote only. To use your account elsewhere, set a password from the sign-in page.

After you vote

You will see a confirmation, and voted nominees are marked (for example with a Voted tick). Whether you see the standings is the organizer’s choice: some pages reveal a category’s standings once you have voted in it, some show them from the start, and some keep them private. Many pages also let you share the vote so others can take part too.

Trouble voting?

• “You have already voted” - each voter gets one vote per category. This is expected.
• A social login window did not open - allow pop-ups for the site and try again.
• Something else - the organizer runs the vote, so reach out to whoever shared the link with you.
