Submitting a Nomination

This guide is for people who have been invited to nominate someone. You do not need an Izivote account to submit a nomination.

When an organiser has nominations open, their vote page shows a Submit a Nomination form instead of the voting options.

How to nominate

  1. Open the page using the link the organiser shared.
  2. Fill in the form. Every form asks for at least:
    • Name - the full name of the person or thing you are nominating.
    • Category - choose which category the nominee belongs in.
    • Image - if the organiser requires it, upload a photo (click the upload area, then you can change or remove it).
    • Any extra fields the organiser added (short text, long text, an email address, a dropdown, radio options, or checkboxes). Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).
  3. Agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy using the checkbox at the bottom (required).
  4. Click Submit Nomination.

Only share what the form asks for. Do not include sensitive information or passwords, the organiser reviews every submission.

If there is a fee

Some organisers charge to submit a nomination. When they do, the amount is shown at the top of the form before you fill anything in, along with two things worth knowing:

  • The organiser sets and collects the fee, not Izivote. It helps them cover the cost of running the awards and keeps entries genuine.
  • It is not refunded if your nomination is not accepted. You are paying to enter, not for a place on the ballot.

You are only charged after the form is saved, so nothing is taken for a submission the form would have rejected. The steps are:

  1. Fill in the form and click Submit Nomination.
  2. Enter the email address for your receipt, then click Pay.
  3. Pay by card. Your nomination reaches the organiser as soon as the payment clears.

Until the fee is paid, the organiser cannot see your nomination.

If your payment fails or you close the tab

Come back to the same page in the same browser and you will see Finish your nomination, with the option to Pay now or Start over. That works for about an hour; after that the unpaid entry is cleared and you can simply submit again.

If you were charged but the page did not confirm it, do not pay twice. The payment finishes on its own and your nomination reaches the organiser; contact the organiser if it does not show up.

After you submit

You will see a Nomination submitted! confirmation with a Pending review badge, since the organiser must approve your entry before it can appear. On a page that charges a fee, you reach this once the payment has gone through. From there you can click Submit another nomination to add more.

What happens next depends on the organiser’s settings:

  • Your nominee may appear on the page once the organiser approves it, or
  • The organiser may review submissions before voting opens.

Either way, the organiser decides which nominees make it onto the final ballot. See Reviewing & Moderating for the organiser’s side.
